Intu Chapelfield to help raise awareness of sexual health to shoppers

As part of World Contraception Day on Thursday 26th September from 9am to 8.00pm, nurses from the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital’s (NNUH) Contraception & Sexual Health (CASH) Clinic will be in intu Chapelfield to answer questions from the general public and raise awareness of the different types of contraception available.

World Contraception Day takes place on September 26 every year. The annual worldwide campaign aims to improve awareness of contraception to enable young people to make informed choices on their sexual and reproductive health.

At this event shoppers will be able to meet staff and take away information about sexual health services available in Norwich. The team will be located outside H Samuel on the Lower Ground floor of intu Chapelfield.

Catherine Schunmann, consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health for the NNUH said: “It is important that people of all ages feel comfortable with talking about their sexual health and also to know what sexual health services are available to them locally”.

Intu’s Chapelfield’s general manager Davina Tanner said: “intu Chapelfield is really pleased to welcome nurses from the CASH clinic to intu Chapelfield to promote World Contraception Day. I'm sure that intu Chapelfield's shoppers will find this awareness day most interesting and useful. We are very pleased to continue our partnership with the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in 2013, bringing health awareness advice to our shoppers on a regular basis. Intu Chapelfield is committed to supporting the local community and having these events in the centre makes them really accessible.”
