Friend’s Easter Draw raises money for hospital

The Friends of Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital have organised an Easter Draw to raise much needed funds for wards and departments across the hospital.

Raffle tickets have been sold to staff, patients and visitors and it is hoped The Friends will raise nearly £1,000, with the first prize of shopping vouchers being kindly donated by Serco.

Richard Drew, Chair of the Friends, said: “Our Easter raffle has proved a real hit with everyone and we hope that this becomes an event that everyone looks forward to.”
Louise Cook, Fundraising Manager at NNUH, said: “We are absolutely delighted that The Friends are supporting the hospital with their fundraising. The Friends put so much work into everything they do and make a real difference to our wards and departments.”

Notes to editors:
The Friends of Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is a group of volunteers who fundraise on behalf of the hospital along with nominated Trust staff. Decisions about how to spend funds is decided by the Trustees on receipt of an application at bimonthly meetings. In order to support the work of the hospital, grants are given to departments and wards for specific items that will help to improve the experience of patients and their families.

Since 2009 the Friends of NNUH have donated over £300,000 in grants for much needed items at the hospital. They continue the good work carried out by the previous Friends of Norwich Hospitals Charity which was concluded in 2010.
