Deadline for governor applications at NNUH

Potential candidates have until 28th May to put their name forward as a governor at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Thirteen governors are being sought from across the county with vacancies in: Norwich, Broadland, South Norfolk, North Norfolk, Breckland, West Norfolk and Great Yarmouth/Waveney.   Many of the existing governors have reached the end of their three year term, and a number will be standing for re-election.

The role of a governor is to provide a direct link with the local community to represent the interests of local people as hospital services change and develop.

John Fry, Chairman of NNUH, said: “We are looking for people who have an interest in our hospitals and want to get involved. Our governors come together to form our Council of Governors which has an important role in the organisation and helps us to shape the future of services.”

To be eligible to become a governor, people must be aged over 16 years, live in Norfolk or Waveney and join NNUH’s free membership scheme. Potential candidates have until 28th May to return their completed election forms and the results of the election will be announced on 9th July.
