Our Big Gig comes to NNUH

Patients, visitors and staff at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) will be treated to a day of music on 11th July as Our Big Gig comes to the hospital.

The free day of music takes place in the West Atrium from 10:30am – 6:30pm and has been organised by the Hospital Arts Project working with Xenia Horne from UK Music Makers, as part of Our Big Gig. Our Big Gig is a community music celebration which takes place across the UK from the 11th to the 14th July 2014. This annual event aims to bring communities together to celebrate their local musical talents and get more people involved in music making.

Performances range from harp music, cello and piano, to country and blues singing and jazz guitar.

Emma Jarvis, Hospital Arts Co-ordinator at NNUH, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome back ‘Our Big Gig’ for a second year running and put on a wide range of music for our patients, visitors and staff. Live music makes a real difference to the hospital environment and lifts everyone’s spirits, so we hope to see lots of people dropping by to enjoy the music on offer throughout the day.”
