Classic Car Charity Raffle
Norwich Classic Vehicle Club (NCVC) has organised another Classic Car Raffle which will raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
Lewis Turner and Les Heaton, organisers of this event, are keen car enthusiasts and have several family members whose babies have been cared for by NICU over the last few years, and they wanted to help raise money for the unit.
The car was donated by a club members son-in-law who has received extensive care from the Spinal Injuries Unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, so this year the NCVC will be splitting the proceeds from the car raffle and the 2015 fun day between both charities.
Lewis Turner said: This year we have a classic MGB car, the GT Limited Edition model. She is in lovely condition, will have a full MOT and a little tax so can be driven home. We will be selling tickets for the chance to win this car until 7th June 2015. The draw will be made at our annual fun day.
The Club will be taking the car to various events throughout the year to sell raffle tickets including the prestigious Norwich Classic Vehicle Club Show held on 7th June 2015 and if people are unable to attend they can purchase a ticket by post or phone.
Louise Cook, fund raising manager, said: We are absolutely delighted that Norwich Classic Vehicle Club has decided to raise money for our NICU department again. Les and Lewis and all the members are so dedicated to helping raise money for our hospital that we wish them all the success with the car raffle this year.”
Louise added: We are so grateful that people support Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Charitable Fund. Whilst the NHS provides the necessities, the charity funds projects that make the hospital experience a better one for our patients, visitors and staff. We are always looking for people to get involved in fund raising so please contact us if you would like to help.”
