Super Santas in aid of NNUHs NICU
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! Its 130 Santas running for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) part of the hospital charity at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
The Santa run organised by MG Fitness Studio saw 90 Santas running 10k with another 40 Santas completing a 3K circuit raising a total of £500 for NICU.
Mick Glynn, MG Fitness Studio owner said: I thought the Santa run would be a great way to get everyone together and instead of the normal party, pub run etc, an event that can include the whole family, have a laugh, get fit and raise some money as well for a good cause. A friend, whose grand child was born prematurely and had had care on NICU, explained the amazing work the Unit does and therefore we decided to raise as much money as possible for them.
Louise Cook, NNUH Fundraising Manager commented: An incredible amount of Santas ran in aid of NICU and we are very grateful to the MG Fitness Studio for the effort that they have put into organising the event.
The run is set to be an annual event with the next one organised for Sunday 6th December 2015. If anyone would like to register for the event then please contact the gym at www.mickglynn.co.uk
