Cromer Friends brighten up paediatric patients’ experience

The Cromer Community & Hospital Friends have recently purchased £250 worth of new toys for the Minor Injuries Unit at Cromer & District Hospital.

The kind donation was received by nurse practitioners from the chairman of the Cromer Community & Hospital Friends, Mary Northway. The toys will be used in the paediatric waiting area to keep children entertained whilst they, or their families, are waiting to be seen.

Anita Martins, Cromer Hospital Matron said: “Thank you to Mary and the rest of the Friends for the very generous donation. The Children’s area will become a brighter place and donations like these can make a real difference to a patient’s experience at the hospital no matter how old they are.”

Louise Cook, NNUH Fundraising Manager commented: “We are incredibly grateful to all the support provided by the Cromer Community & Hospital Friends and in particular Mary. The donation will help to brighten up the children’s area and provide entertainment and comfort at what might be a worrying time for them. We do welcome any donations to the hospital charitable fund and if you wish to get involved please do get in touch.”

The Friends hold various fundraising events throughout the year including the annual fete, raffles, coffee mornings and social evenings. For anyone interested in becoming a member please contact Mary Northway on 01263 513835.
