Local Firefighter Boxing Match Benefits Babies
Local fire fighter Alan Nicholls will be taking on the Norfolk Constabulary in his final boxing challenge to raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Fund, part of the hospital charity.
Alan is raising money for hospital charity to say thank you for the care his baby son, Alfie received when was born. Alfie was born at 24 weeks and weighed 720g, and will now be celebrating his second birthday on 24 March and is a very normal, happy toddler.
Alan said: The hospital was amazing. The care and attention our little boy received was brilliant. Without exception I've never met such a dedicated team of nurses. We continue to support the hospital as we want other families to realise that no matter how hard the journey can be that there can be happy outcomes.”
Louise Cook, fundraising manager, said: We are absolutely delighted that Alan and his colleagues from the fire and polices services supported our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.”
Jane Bennett, NICU Matron added: We are so grateful for the support that Alan, his family and colleagues continue to offer to our unit. Money raised will be used to purchase additional equipment for the unit .’
