Army Attends Hospital Fete and Open Day

The 6th Regiment Army Air Corp (6AAC), 160 medical squadron and 3rd Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment will be attending the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) Fete and Open Day on 20 June from 11am – 4pm.

A team of army experts from 6AACwill be providing visitors the chance to experience a ride in a flight simulator, test their climbing skills with a mobile climbing wall or enquire about a career in the forces.

Louise Cook, NNUH Fundraising Manager said; “We’re really looking forward to welcoming the army to the N&N and hope that our staff, patients and visitors enjoy the range of entertainment available including the activities kindly provided by the Army.

WO2 Gus Kaye, Army Air Corps Reserves Recruitment Warrant Officer commented: “We are really looking forward to attending the fete at the N&N. This is a great opportunity for us to get out and meet the local community. The stand will entertain the whole family so make sure you pay us a visit. Try your skills on the climbing wall, fly a mission on the flight simulator or simply find out about the range of opportunities available by joining the Army Reserves.”

The Hospital Radio station will be keeping visitors updated throughout the day on all the activities happening across the hospital both inside and out. There will be homemade cakes, craft stalls and live entertainment from the Hospital Choir and other acts, there will also be the chance to look round operating theatres and the Cardio Lab on behind the scenes tours, Teddy Bear X-rays, “Make a Denture” and you can find out more about joining the NHS at the ever popular careers fair.
