intu Chapelfield supports Dementia Awareness Week

As part of Dementia Awareness Week, 17-23 May, the Alzheimer’s Society and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital have teamed up to answer the public’s questions on dementia at intu Chapelfield from 9am to 6pm on Tuesday 19th May 2015.

There will be information about dementia, how it is diagnosed and how to live well with dementia, as well as the support available for families.

Liz Yaxley, Integrated Dementia Services Project Manager at NNUH, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society and with the support of intu Chapelfield. Getting the right information to manage your health is vitally important and this event will help us to reach patients, families and carers in another setting outside the hospital.”

The event is part of a range of activities for Dementia Awareness Week, such as a talk for the public on dementia taking place on Monday 18th May from 6pm to 8pm in the Benjamin Gooch Lecture Theatre at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. NNUH has also recruited a network of staff and volunteers and trained them in a variety of roles to help patients with Dementia, as well as their carers.
