Super Santa’s Run For Premature Babies

Last year more than 100 Santa’s swapped their boots for trainers and raised £500 for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. This year the Santa run, organised by MG Fitness Studio, hopes to double the number of Santa’s taking part and is encouraging people to sign up early and ‘get ready for Christmas’.

Mick Glynn, MG Fitness Studio owner said: “Last year we wanted to do something to make a difference to a local charity at Christmas and what better cause then raising money for premature and poorly babies at the hospital. Last year we had lots of fun with families, groups of friends and individuals getting dressed up as the ‘Man in Red’. Now we are hoping to get people to sign up early and put the date in their diary now.”

The gym decided to fund raise for NICU after a friend’s grand- child received special care after being born prematurely.

Louise Cook, NNUH Fundraising Manager commented: “We are so excited to have a Santa Run raising money for the hospital charity which will go to support the amazing work of this department. We really appreciated what Mick did last year in raising £500 and hope more Santa’s sign up and take part this year.”

The run is on Sunday 6th December 2015. If anyone would like to register for the event then please contact the gym at www.mickglynn.co.uk
