Love is all around on the Weybourne Unit
Hospital volunteers Lyn and Richard have found love once again after meeting in their volunteering roles at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital after they both lost their spouses to cancer.
Former N&N employee Lyn retired from the Day Procedure Unit (DPU) in 2013 but re-joined as a volunteer a month later. On the Weybourne Unit, she met Richard and they began courting two years later with a recent engagement announcement.
Lyn, NNUH Volunteer said: “When I first joined the Weybourne unit Richard made me feel very welcome and made me smile. We had both lost our spouses to cancer and found we had a lot in common. We spend our time between my city home and his house in the Norfolk countryside but decided that life is a journey and we intend to travel it together.”
Sally Knights, NNUH Volunteers Manager added: “We are delighted for Lyn and Richard on their happy news. Our volunteers are a massive part of the hospital and it is lovely to see that they have also found new partners through volunteering.”
NNUH would like to wish both Lyn and Richard every happiness for the future.
