Event showcases range of healthcare roles
An event to raise awareness of the range of roles and career opportunities in allied health and healthcare science professions will be held at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital on Tuesday 13th September.
The event, which will take place between 11am and 2pm in the East Atrium of the hospital, aims to raise the profile of allied health and healthcare science professions working at the trust and highlight the range of career opportunities within the field.
Departments on display on the day include audiology, speech and language therapy, pathology and physiotherapy with visitors being given the opportunity to take part in hands-on demonstrations. The dietetic department will be offering weight and height checks; the radiology team will be manning a life-size x-ray model and slides of bacterial samples will be on show from the histology department for visitors to view through microscopes.
The event will also feature a patient journey, showing the various roles involved in the care of a single patient.
Karen Rapson, Practice Development Nurse at the NNUH said ‘We are hoping to showcase the huge variety of roles within allied health and healthcare science. These are professionals who play a key role in the delivery of services to patients across the hospital; there really is something for everyone and on the day we’ll have lots of interactive stands to bring these roles to life.’
The event is open to staff, students and visitors to the hospital and is free to attend.
