Ballot papers dispatched in hospital governor election
Ballot papers will be dispatched this week to members of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust who will be asked to elect three new Governors.
The Governors will be part of the Trust’s Council of Governors which represents local people, patients and staff when decisions are made about the future of Cromer Hospital and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
Nineteen candidates have put themselves forward for the Governor election and 6,500 public members living in Norwich and Broadland will be asked to vote for their choice of Governor. There are two governor vacancies in Norwich and one in Broadland.
John Fry, Chairman of NNUH, said: “Our Governors have an important role both to represent the views of the local community when decisions are made about our hospitals and to be assured that the Trust is providing excellent care.
“It is very encouraging that so many people have put their names forward as potential Governors and I look forward to working with those who are elected.”
UK Engage is running the election on behalf of the Trust to ensure it is independent and fair. The results of the election will be announced on 19th December 2016.
