New Non-Executive Director Announced

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital has announced Dr Geraldine O’Sullivan as its new non-executive director.

Dr O’Sullivan, a Consultant Psychiatrist, who retired last year from the Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, was the Executive Director of Quality and Medical Leadership from 2008, and before that its Co-Medical Director from 2003.

Dr O’Sullivan, went to Medical School at University College, Cork, was a Trainee Doctor at Mercy Hospital, Cork and Maudsley Hospital, London, and obtained her MD postgraduate medical degree from the University of Ireland.  She is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

John Fry, Chairman of NNUH said: “I am very pleased to welcome Dr O’Sullivan to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Board.   Her in-depth experience and knowledge of the NHS will be invaluable.”

Mark Davies, Chief Executive of NNUH said: “I am delighted that Dr O’Sullivan is joining the Trust Board.  Dr O’Sullivan brings extensive knowledge of leadership and a wealth of experience as a clinician and I look forward very much to working together.”

“I am very pleased to have been appointed to the Trust as non-executive director,” says Dr O’Sullivan, “I look forward to being of service to the Trust and am very pleased to have the opportunity of contributing to the Board of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust”.

Dr O’Sullivan has previously worked in Norfolk and lives in Cambridge.

The appointment was made by the Trust’s Council of Governors.
