Palliative Care Team holding Pop-up Café event

The Palliative Care Team at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is holding Pop-up Café event, called ‘Let’s have a cuppa and talk’, in the hospital’s east atrium from 10am to 4pm,15th-17th May, to support Dying Matters Awareness Week.

Clemency Collins, Specialist Palliative Care Nurse, says: “This event is especially for families who need advice or just want to sit down and have a chat over a cup of tea.”

Patients and public are being invited to come along and talk to members of the Palliative Care team or one of the organisations who will be offering advice. These include Red Cross, Macmillan, British Heart Foundation, Health and Wellbeing, Dementia, Motor Neurone Disease, Lung Cancer Nurse, Organ Donation, and Bereavement support. The Norwich Writer’s Café has also donated poetry which will be displayed around the café.

Big C will be there to help Complete Advance Care Plans and Norfolk Citizens Advice will be able to help on legal matters or concerns. Free tea, coffee or hot chocolate will be provided and there will also be a 3pm relaxation session each day for everyone to attend in the Benjamin Gooch Lecture Theatre.
