Getting crafty to raise funds for NICU

Children and adults who have received care at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at NNUH are being urged to get involved in a new fingerprint artwork.

The team at Dotty Pottery at Hellesdon Barns are asking babies and children to come along with their parents and take part in creating the hospital’s NICU emblem in fingerprints between Tuesday 15 October and Friday 18 October.

The finished tiles will be assembled to create a piece of artwork which will be hung in the hospital. It is hoped that past NICU babies children and adults will take part to add a finger print to celebrate the amazing work that is done at the Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital and NICU.

Philippa and Rebecca, from Dotty Pottery, said: “We have been raising money for NICU all this year and have decided to do this mural for our big event to raise as much money as we can, and we hope that as many people will come as possible to take part.”

The great finger print challenge for NICU takes place between 11am and 4pm. This is a drop-in session so no booking is needed unless you are hoping to paint later on in the studio.

Each finger print will have a donation of £2, with all the proceeds going to the NICU.
