Consultant Paediatric Team
Our team of Consultant Paediatricians provide services for children with developmental problems, disabilities and children with severe behavioural problems. They work with nurses, psychologists and therapists from other teams at Upton Road and the Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital. Some of the conditions they treat include developmental and learning disability, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism and ADHD.
Community Nursing Team
The Community Nursing Team provides a service for children of school age and under; working with children who have difficulties with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and children with complex disability.
The team provides assessment, psychological intervention, consultation and training. They also provide nursing care for children with complex medical conditions, life threatening illnesses, learning disabilities and severe challenging behaviour.
Child Development Unit (CDU)
The Child Development Unit cares for children with special needs and supports their families. The unit offers assessment, planning and working with parents to help children reach their full potential.
Speech and Language Therapy
Provides services for children who have difficulty communicating, understanding, speaking, swallowing, drinking or eating.
ADHD Team
Our team of psychologists and specialist nurses look after children with Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). They work with the doctors to manage medication, and provide advice to parents and young people with ADHD and related problems.
