Acute nursing refresher Programme

Acute nursing refresher Programme

Are you considering applying for a post at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and do you feel your acute nursing skills are a bit rusty?

Have you got a live NMC Registration and have not worked in an acute hospital for a year or more?

We can offer you a Supervised Practice refresher Programme following successful application to the Trust; please see our adverts on NHS Jobs for Registered Nurses in Medicine and Surgery and the Nurse Bank.

The programme aims to refresh your knowledge & skills of acute hospital nursing, and will prepare you for a registration with the Nurse Bank at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) or a substantive post.

It entails a maximum of 150 hours, made up of supervised supernumerary clinical practice and mandatory training, to be completed within a maximum of 15 weeks, and may consist of a range of placements.

Fixed-term Training Contracts

Places on the programme are limited, and are subject to satisfactory application process. The successful applicant will be offered a fixed term training agreement for the period of their supervised practice.

The programme attracts a bursary of up to £1,000 for the full 150 hours completed (pro rata for fewer hours).

Working Arrangements

You will be allocated a mentor and work through agreed competencies to enable you to meet the requirements of the job description. To make learning effective you should aim to work a minimum of 1 or 2 shifts per week and complete the programme within 15 weeks.
