Blood Tests (Phlebotomy)
The Phlebotomy Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is part of the Directorate of Laboratory Medicine and dedicated to providing an efficient and professional service to the staff and its patients.
Our team of phlebotomists are trained to the highest standard in order to provide the best service possible to you within the out-patients department and on the wards.
Blood Test Clinics
The Phlebotomy Department is located in East Out-patients on Level 3 (opposite The Elsie Bertram Diabetes Centre) and operates a walk-in and appointment system for patients from Out-patients and GP surgeries. Patients are provided with a ticket number and wait in the reception area until their number is displayed, whereby they can then go through to the treatment room.
There is a further Blood Test Clinic located in the West Out-patients on Level 3 for Out-patient and GP surgeries. This operates a walk-in clinic arrangement where patients take a ticket number from the machine and wait for their number to be called by the phlebotomist.
Further Information
The Blood Test Clinics can be busy during mid morning and late afternoons and patients arriving from GP surgeries or have regular blood tests are advised to telephone 01603 286921 to arrange an appointment in the East Out-patient clinic and avoid long delays.
Children under the age of 16yrs, and other patients deemed to be of special needs, are given priority to other walk-in patients.
The Phlebotomy Out-patient clinics are closed on Public and Bank Holidays.
