Multi-Disciplinary Team

If you have recently been told you have or are suspected of having a urological cancer you will have already met some of the people involved in your care. These health professionals work within a team which is called a specialist Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) which is based at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. The members of the Urology MDT are experts at treating and managing urological cancer.  They are involved with your investigations, diagnosis and treatment.

Key Worker

Your key worker acts as a point of contact for you and your family throughout your treatment.  Usually this will be a specialist nurse.  Your key worker may change throughout your care depending on what treatment you have.  This will be made clear to you.

Patient Support Services

Norfolk and Waveney Prostate Cancer Support Group

A Patient Support Group, the members of which are fellow prostate cancer patients in the local area. The group holds bi-monthly meetings in February, April, June, August, October and December each year to which you, your family and/or friends are invited to attend. Meetings are always on the first Monday in these months, unless there is a bank holiday, when it takes place on the second Monday.
