United against racism and all forms of abusive behaviour.

We stand firmly against racism and all forms of discrimination and abusive behaviour wherever it exists, in our homes, our hospitals, our public services, our communities and in day-to-day living.

We actively embrace diversity and speak out against any behaviour that undermines dignity, equality or respect. Together with our partners across public services, we are committed to promoting equality, fairness and inclusion, and to challenging racism and discrimination within our services and across our communities.

In our hospitals, your care – and the care of your friends and families – is delivered every day by staff from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures and communities. We greatly value every one of them. We ask that you always treat our colleagues with the respect they deserve and that everyone has the right to expect.

We operate a zero-tolerance approach to racist, threatening or abusive behaviour. When such incidents occur, we will act swiftly and report them to the police and other relevant authorities – including online regulators – where necessary.

There is no excuse for abuse.
