NHS App Integration
DrDoctor is integrated with the NHS App which means that patients are messaged via the NHS App in the first instance, instead of by text message. How this works is described below.
- Patients will receive a notification via the NHS App to notify them of their upcoming appointment. If they do not have the NHS App installed or do not view the NHS App notification within 8 hours, or by 9pm if that is earlier, patients will then receive an SMS notification.
- The same message is sent via the NHS App as that which is sent by text.
- The message data is transferred from NNUH to the DrDoctor platform, DrDoctor then provides it to the NHS App system, which will also check if a patient is registered with the NHS App and provide access for the user to register if not already completed.
