Breathlessness Clinic

This is a nurse-led clinic located in the Colney Centre at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital but we also work closely with Priscilla Bacon Lodge who also have a Breathlessness clinic.

We aim to improve the quality of life for people suffering breathing problems associated with any life limiting illness, primary/secondary lung cancer or mesothelioma, non-malignant illness, respiratory, heart failure, chronic renal failure and neurological conditions.

Patients are assessed, relaxation and breathing techniques are taught, practical and emotional support is offered.

Referrals

Referrals can be made by SPOR, from GPs, consultants, community specialist palliative care nurses, community matrons, Ward staff, and cancer specialist nurses. The patient also needs to have been seen by a doctor prior to the referral to rule out reversible causes of breathlessness.

Patients must be well enough to travel.

Further Information

Enquries should be referred to Anna Farrar, CNS Specialist Palliative Care, on the main contact telephone number below.
