Fracture and Orthopaedic Clinic

The Fracture and Orthopaedic Clinic is generally led by an orthopaedic consultant, specialist registrar or staff grade doctor helped by a team of nurses, health care assistants and plaster technicians.

Current specialist areas include spinal surgery, upper limb problems, hip and knee arthritis, trauma and reconstructive surgery, foot and ankle surgery and paediatric orthopaedic surgery (via the Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital).

The Fracture and Orthopaedic Clinic is very busy with approximately 200 patients attending every day and, whilst we allocate individual appointment times, some patients may need X-rays / plaster casts before seeing the doctor. For that reason, the appointment time given is the time patients should arrive and not necessarily the time they will be seen by the doctor.

If unable to attend your appointment please let us know as soon as possible so that we can give the appointment to someone else.

Patients are welcome to bring someone with them to their appointment; however, there is limited space in the waiting areas so we request that this is limited to one person.

Please feel free to ask any member of staff if you have any questions during your visit.

Please note Saturday and Sunday opening times are for the plaster room only.
