Ambulatory Procedure Unit
Ambulatory Procedure Unit
The Ambulatory Procedure Unit (APU) at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is a fully integrated unit with its own theatres, anaesthetic regional block rooms, consultation rooms and discharge suite. APU provides a Local/Regional Anaesthetic service for both Plastic and Orthopaedic specialists. The service covers an elective and trauma program that allows patients to be admitted, treated and discharged on the same day.
A hand trauma clinic runs every morning where injuries from around the region are assessed. We also see on-the-day referrals from the Emergency Department, GP practices and our neighbouring Hospitals.
APU now offers a Dressing Clinic service that is intended to manage hand injuries. Predominately this clinic will focus on post procedure follow up appointments, giving a better continuity of care to our patient group. Clinics will run on Tuesdays and Thursday with a vision to expand in the near future.
Our aim is to provide the highest quality of care in an environment that puts patients first.
Our opening times are:
07:30 – 18:00 Monday – Friday
Closed Saturday & Sunday
