Jenny Lind – Information for GPs

The Jenny Lind Children's Hospital is a hospital within a hospital and provides a broad range of paediatric services delivered through a number of specialties caring for children and young people. These include:

  • Buxton Ward, Children’s Inpatients: 33 beds including 2 high dependency beds
  • Children’s Medical Day Ward: 4 beds
  • Children’s Day Procedure Unit: 8 beds
  • Children’s Assessment Unit: 8 beds
  • Children’s Accident and Emergency Department
  • Children’s Outpatients including a specialist children’s forensic facility
  • Children’s Theatre Services Department
  • Outpatient facilities throughout the trust including at Cromer and District Hospital
  • *Community Children’s Services, delivered in a number of locations

  • Endocrine oncology

The Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital at NNUH provides tertiary level care for children across the region in a number of areas including:

  • Neonatal Intensive Care
  • Children’s and Neonatal Surgery
  • Cystic Fibrosis
  • Gastroenterology
  • Orthopaedics including Spinal Surgery
  • Rheumatology including Chronic Pain
  • Diabetes including insulin pump therapy
  • Endocrinology and Obesity services
  • Children’s forensic services*
