Pedal Power for Cancer

Paul Thompson has gone pedal power crazy for charity. Paul who lives off Dereham Road in Norwich is hitting the road in 2013 to compete in four local bike challenges over the next few months, starting on 21st April when he takes part in The Cambridge 100 bike ride.

Paul will then be competing in the The Tour de Tendring on the 19 May, The Essex County Ride on the 16 June and the Cambridge – Norwich Bike Ride on 29 September. All monies raised will go towards helping the Targeted Radiotherapy Appeal at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH).

Paul said. ‘We have had four members of our family who have at one time or another suffered from varying forms of cancer and have attended the radiotherapy suite at both the old N&N and the new one. My mother attended through 1974 with Lymphoma, and thanks to the team there she is still alive and well today. I am a keen cyclist and wanted to do something to help the appeal and let people know why it is so important we get the new facilities at the NNUH.’

Paul can be found on Twitter @Paultcycling where he is tweeting his exploits to encourage others to get in shape and sign up for the bike for cancer ride from Cambridge to Norwich on 29th September 2013.

Louise Cook, fundraising manager said, ‘We are so grateful that Paul is supporting our Targeted Radiotherapy Appeal and is encouraging people to get on their bike for cancer. I hope people will support Paul and follow his rides over the next few months and are inspired to sign up for our Cambridge to Norwich Bike Ride on 29 September.’
