New mum inspired to raise money for NICU

Nicola Robles-Hewson’s baby daughter Noelia was born five weeks early and because she suffered complications at birth was treated in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH).

As a way of saying thank you to NICU for the care Noelia received after she was born, and inspired by her friends and family, Nicola decided to fundraise for the unit by organising a Pamper Evening and Craft Fair. This event is taking place on Friday 19th July from 7pm – 10pm at Long Stratton High School.

Nicola who lives in Long Stratton said: “The staff on NICU were all so fantastic and my little girl was looked after by such a fantastic team of nurses that I wanted to do something to say thank you for giving Noelia the best possible start in life.”

Caroline Conroy, NICU Sister said: “We are very grateful to Nicola for organising this event to raise money for the unit. We have wish list of little extras that we would like to buy, like special cosy nests, which further add to the quality of care we give our babies and their families. It’s with the help of our fundraisers and events like this that we are able to do that little bit more for them.”

Tickets are £3 and are available on the door.
