Patient Information – Junior Doctors Strike

The British Medical Association has given notice of strike action in relation to a national dispute concerning a new contract for junior doctors, to take place during the following periods:
•    From 8am, Tuesday 12 January to 8am Wednesday 13 January
•    From 8am, Tuesday 26 January to 8am Thursday 28 January
•    From 8am to 5pm, Wednesday 10 February

The hospital’s highest priority is to continue to provide safe and high quality care for our patients, and avoid disruption to our services where at all possible.  We have plans in place to manage any impact that this industrial action may have, particularly in relation to urgent and emergency care.

If there are any changes to an appointment that you have scheduled at our hospitals on any day of action, you will be contacted.  If you do not hear from us, please assume your appointment remains unchanged and attend as planned.  There may be fewer staff on duty than usual so please allow more time for your clinic appointment.
