Talk for the public on blood donation

Members of the public can find out more about what happens to blood after it is donated, how it is processed and how it reaches the patient.

The talk is celebrating World Blood Donor Day and takes place from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday 14th June, Benjamin Gooch Theatre, at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH).

The speakers will be Alison Rudd, Transfusion Specialist Nurse and Janet Pring, Transfusion Practitioner, both from NNUH.  They will be talking about processing blood donations, blood transfusion and the hospital laboratory, and receiving a blood transfusion.

Stands will also include SERV Norfolk Blood Bikes, information on donating blood, the history of blood transfusion and receiving transfusions.
