Jenny Lind Hospital praised by young patients in latest CQC survey

Our staff at Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital have been praised in the latest Children and Young People’s Patient Experience Survey.

More than 350 patients and their parents/carers took part in the 2020 survey, which is co-ordinated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Staff working in children’s services were praised for their friendliness and treating patients with dignity and respect with 9 out of ten respondents saying they received a very good experience.

We performed better than most trusts on children rating the food provided and from parents and carers who were able to be with their child as much as they needed to.

Prof Nancy Fontaine, NNUH Chief Nurse, said: “We are extremely grateful to all the children and young people for their valued feedback, which is testament to the hard work of our clinical teams, play team and support staff working in children’s services.

“We monitor patient experience on an ongoing basis and will be analysing the results of this survey to feed into current and future service improvement projects.”

The results of the 2020 survey can be viewed here.
