Colney Lane roundabout works commence on 9 September for six months.
Roadworks will start on the Colney Lane “hospital” roundabout on 9 September as part of a project to improve traffic flow and deliver better pedestrian and cycle access to the hospital and Research Park.
These roadworks are scheduled to last six months, with initial works carried out, out of hours to keep disruption to a minimum. The roundabout will remain open, although there may be minor delays. There are no plans to close any part of the roundabout until January 2025.
The developer, council and hospital have worked together to reduce disruption to hospital traffic but please use alternative routes where possible. These include access via Hethersett Lane and Rosalind Franklin Road and using public transport including the Costessey Park and Ride Service 510 (£1 return), which runs regularly to and from the hospital.
Use the map below for a rough guide of the two alternative routes.
