Everyone welcome at Hospital Showcase and AGM
Members of the public are invited to attend our Hospital Showcase and Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 2 October.
From 2pm to 4.30pm patients and public will be able to walk around a marketplace of stands in the hospital’s East Atrium, see an exhibition of our work and speak to our teams. The AGM meeting runs from 4.30pm to 6.30pm in the Benjamin Gooch Lecture Theatre, including a review of the year and talks from our experts.
Prof Lesley Dwyer, Chief Executive, says: “Our teams will be sharing their expertise and demonstrating how we are improving care for patients. This is a great opportunity for us to link with our community, describe where we are in terms of performance and answer people’s questions. We’re also looking forward to our N&N Hospitals Charity Awards to thank members of the public for their tremendous support.”
Dr Lindy-Lee Folscher, Emergency Department Chief of Service, says: “We’re one of the best hospitals in the country for the A&E four-hour performance standard, which is testament to the hard work of our Emergency Department teams and colleagues across the hospital. Everyone is committed to reducing ambulance delays outside our hospital, which we know is saving lives by improving 999 response times by freeing up ambulances quicker to get to patients in our community.”
Professor Irshad Shaikh, Consultant Surgeon, says: “Innovation and excellence are at the heart of everything we do. The outcomes we have achieved for patients are some of the best in the country and even internationally. We’ve shown what’s possible by introducing robotic multi-specialty complex pelvic cancer surgery and robotic day case surgery for bowel cancer, with the support of the virtual ward. I am very proud of my team and their achievements.”
The event will include a Question and Answer session with our Executive team.
