First Registered Nursing Associates complete their preceptorships
Olivia Slater and Michelle Robinson are our first two Registered Nursing Associates to have completed their preceptorship competencies post qualifying.
Both were apprentices in the very first Trainee Nursing Associate (TNA) Apprenticeship Programme, which started in September 2018.
Olivia, who works in the Renal Team, was presented with her preceptorship certificate and badge in December by Heather Moss, Senior Sister.
Michelle, who works in AMU, was presented with her certificate and badge in late January.
“Completing my preceptorship enabled me to transition from being a student to a qualified Nursing Associate confidently. Being assessed on my competencies and skills allowed me to become confident in my new job role,” said Olivia.
“I found completing my preceptorship fairly easy due to the support I had from our Clinical Educators Hannah and Emma: with regular catch-up meetings they supported me so well and made sure that I met all my goals and enabled me to attend further training to help enhance my skills.
“I wish to continue my training and develop further and would love to be able to study in Midwifery”.
