Spotlight on Amy and Jamie, Bank Staff
“I love the flexible hours, being able to work around my own time and building up plenty of experience in different areas,” said Amy Buck, Admin & Clerical on the bank since April last year.
“Last year I was supposed to be doing my A-Levels but due to the pandemic, didn’t. So I thought it would be a great opportunity to get some work experience in an office and where better than in a busy hospital setting during a time when NNUH needed support?
“I got involved with lots of projects and built up some great work experience which allowed me to improve my CV. I would definitely recommend joining the bank. The staff are so helpful and the hospital is filled with so many caring people.”
Jamie Mather, originally joined the bank as a Healthcare Assistant in 2013 on Brundall ward.
Between 2014 and 2017 he moved to study as a student nurse at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and Evelina London Children’s Hospital and then finally joined us as a Bank Nurse.
“Staff are always so happy to see bank nurses. They’re so appreciative of your support.”
“I’d say to build up your experience beforehand. You’ve got to remember that you’ll be put somewhere and expected to know the basics. You’ll obviously be given great support by all of the staff, but I’d recommend building up your skills and confidence somewhere else previously.”
