Top marks for NNUH in 2024 Maternity Survey
Our Maternity team have been praised for their antenatal care, care during labour and birth and postnatal care in the latest national Maternity Survey.
The 2024 results were published by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) yesterday (28 November) and places NNUH as one of the best in the region in several areas.
Almost 150 women took part in the survey at NNUH to rate all aspects of their maternity care and we rated well in all areas.
Compared with other Trusts, we were about the same on 42 questions and were much better, better than expected or somewhat better than expected on 15 questions. For questions about labour and birth, we rate better than expected and much better than expected for partner involvement. We are better than expected compared with other Trusts for taking concerns seriously and somewhat better than expected for clear communication during labour and birth.
We have the highest scores in the region for responses to questions about antenatal care, assessment and evaluation, labour and birth, staff caring for you, and dealing with complaints.
Stephanie Pease, Divisional Midwifery Director, said: “Following the success of our Maternity inspection in November 2023 where we were rated overall Good, it is fantastic to see continued high scores and improved ratings in this year’s Maternity Survey. The results show how valued and highly rated our Maternity team is and we are grateful to all those who took part in the survey.”
“The Maternity Survey is one of many ways we seek feedback, and we continue to work closely with our Norfolk and Norwich Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership, Patient Panel and community groups to make further improvements and act on their suggestions and recommendations.”
