Vaccination service extended for maternity service users at NNUH

We have extended the Covid-19 vaccination service for mums-to-be, their partners and new parents.

A project to offer vaccinations in the antenatal clinic at the hospital began in August to help increase vaccination rates amongst pregnant women. This has now moved to the hospital’s vaccination hub to offer a seven-days-a-week service for those under the care of NNUH maternity services, including pregnant women and those who have given birth within 28 days, along with their partners.

All pregnant women are recommended to get vaccinated against Covid-19, which is the best way of protecting themselves and their baby against complications of the disease.

The NNUH Vaccination Hub is open between 8am and 7pm every day for first, second or Covid-19 booster jabs for maternity services users at the hospital. The last walk-in for vaccinations is 4pm.

Stephanie Pease, NNUH Divisional Midwifery Director, said: “Vaccination offers pregnant women the best protection against Covid-19, which can be very serious during pregnancy for some women, so we want to make it as easy as possible to access accurate information, as well as the vaccine itself.”

“We are thrilled to be able to extend the vaccination offer at NNUH and I’d encourage anyone who is pregnant or recently had a baby to get fully protected against coronavirus.”
