Professional Profile: I obtained my undergraduate degree in 2005 and my postgraduate medical degree and Gastroenterology training (CCT) at the Carol Davila Faculty of Medicine in Bucharest.
I furthered my experience in Gastroenterology and endoscopy at centres of excellence in the UK, including St. Mark’s Hospital (2015-2016), St. James’s University Hospital in Leeds (2016-2017), St. Thomas’s Hospital as an Advanced Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Fellow (HPB, 2017-2018), and the University Hospital Southampton as an Advanced Endoscopy Fellow (2018-2019).
Since 2020, I have been a substantive Consultant at the NNUH, with a keen interest in IBD, endoscopy, luminal gastroenterology and service improvement. In March 2024, I was awarded the joint-third prize by the Clinical Services and Standards Committee of the British Society of Gastroenterology for service development.
Currently, I serve as the Clinical Lead for wireless capsule endoscopy and co-Lead for faecal microbiota transplantation, collaborating closely with the Quadram Institute and the microbiology team to manage patients with refractory Clostridioides difficile infections.
