Dr Mukhtyar qualified from Saurashtra University in India. He read for further post-graduate degrees from Saurashtra University and the University of Oxford. He trained in Rheumatology in the Oxford Deanery. He has a clinical and research interest in systemic vasculitis, and has more than 100 publications including a book, two theses, abstracts, book chapters and scientific papers. He was appointed as a consultant to the Norfolk and Norwich University hospital in 2009 and leads the vasculitis service.
