Professional Profile: Dr Gomez graduated in Medicine in 1999, from the University of Saragossa in Spain. During his undergraduate years, he combined his medical studies with full-time practice as a veterinary surgeon, having previously qualified in Veterinary Medicine in 1988. In 2000, he relocated to the UK to pursue postgraduate and specialist medical training.
Alongside his clinical training, he obtained a Doctorate in Medicine, a Master’s degree in Clinical Biochemistry, a Master’s degree in Clinical Leadership and, more recently, a Master’s degree in Psychoneuroimmunology.

He currently leads the Familial Hypercholesterolaemia (FH) Service at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), the NHS East Genomics FH Community of Practice, and research in familial hypercholesterolaemia within the University of East Anglia (UEA).
