Research interests:

Miss Sreedharan completed an MPhil at the University of Newcastle, UK investigating the role of microRNA biomarkers in Barretts Oesophagus under the supervision of Professor David Watson and Dr Damien Hussey (Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide).

Professional Profile:

Miss Sreedharan is trained in advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, specialising in the treatment of oesophagogastric cancer, gallbladder disease, hiatus hernia repair and anti-reflux surgery as well as open and laparoscopic hernia repairs. She is experienced in therapeutic endoscopy particularly the use of endoscopic negative pressure therapy.

Miss Sreedharan has been a Consultant oesophagogastric surgeon at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital since 2020. She qualified from the University of Dundee, Scotland before completing higher surgical training in the North East and East of England deaneries. She gained a vast amount of expertise in the specialist resection of oesophagogastric cancer at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne under the supervision of Professor Mike Griffin. She completed the last 3 years of her higher surgical training in the oesophagogastric cancer centre in Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge

Alongside busy clinical work, Miss Sreedharan is involved in postgraduate surgical teaching and training. She is the Course director for the Basic surgical skills course run by the Royal College of Surgeons. She is the audit lead for the Upper GI unit.
