Professional Profile: I have been working as a consultant at NNUH for four years, having worked at the N&N intermittently for the last sixteen years with periods out at JPH, QEH and Ipswich Hospitals.
Before coming back to Norwich I undertook at Fellowship in Major Trauma and Emergency Surgery at Kings College London and still pop up on 24hours in A&E from time to time.
I have always been dedicated to Emergency work and tried to promote the idea of Emergency General Surgery as its own Sub-Speciality. With this in mind I sat the European Board qualification last year and became the first (and currently only) Board-registered emergency surgeon in the country!
I have recently completed the Diploma in Geriatric Medicine with the Royal College of Physicians as management of elderly patients has become a big part of my day job.
Outside of Emergency Surgery I provide the complex abdominal wall reconstruction service along with my colleague Camilo Valero. This service aims to restore function to patients with difficult and recurrent abdominal wall hernias.
Personal Profile: I am married to one of the A&E consultants here at Norwich and have two boys at primary school.
