Special Clinical Interests and Research: Dr Del Forno’s clinical interests include management of respiratory failure, non-invasive ventilation technique, weaning, respiratory aspects of neuromuscular disease, sleep disordered breathing, respiratory tract infections, sepsis. Her main research activity focused on the application of Helmet in acute and chronic respiratory failure and on antibiotic duration in pneumonia.

Professional Profile: Dr Del Forno graduated in Medicine with honours from Rome University in 2008. During her specialty training in Respiratory Medicine in Bologna she developed a scientific interest on management of acute and chronic respiratory failure which led her to undertake a clinical fellowship at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London joining the Sleep and Ventilation team. Following CCT in Respiratory Medicine she dedicated two years to focus on the critically ill patient obtaining fellowships in Intensive Care and Anaesthetics in Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds. She worked as a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine in London at Croydon University Hospital and St George’s University Hospital. In June 2019 she joined the Sleep and Ventilation Team at Norfolk and Norwich University.
