Professional Profile: Dr P.S.Arunakumari has been a Consultant since 2008. She is at NNUH since 2016 where she has expanded the PAG service and complemented the Benign Gynaecology service. Her key achievements in PAG include:
- being the first doctor in the UK to obtain The International Fellowship of Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology
- setting up of the first Gynae endocrine clinic in Norfolk without any financial inlay.
- conceiving and implementing the delivery of the first regional virtual interhospital pan deanery monthly PAG MDT meetings to discuss complex and rare cases in PAG. This has now been upscaled nationally.
- spearheading the development of a PAG community in the EOE region
- delivering the PAG structured monthly online teaching programme for the EOE deanery. She is now the PAG SITM preceptor for the EOE deanery.
She has several publications to her name in peer reviewed journals including book chapters. She is a current member of the BritSPAG Executive Committee. She has been a member of National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE)- Guideline Development Group, Lead reviewer of the National RCOG guidelines and several RCOG committees.
