New non-executive director joins NNUH
Dr Ujjal Sarkar, a lead GP partner at one of the largest GP partnerships in the country, has joined the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Board as a new non-executive director.
Ujjal has been a GP for more than 14 years with extensive board experience in Clinical Commissioning Groups, hospitals and as a Medical Director in NHS 111.
Tom Spink, Interim Chair said: “I am very pleased to welcome Ujjal to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Board. His extensive experience in working with primary care and in board roles will be extremely valuable as we work together on the Trust’s improvement journey.”

Dr Ujjal Sarkar said: “Joining the Board of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals is a great opportunity. I feel privileged to be joining the Trust and look forward to working with the Board, innovating to improve patient experience and ensuring that NNUH is a great place to work.”
The appointment was made by the Trust’s Council of Governors.
