The Rapid Relief Team is supporting staff at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital as the hospital celebrates its 250th anniversary.

A BBQ meal is being offered to staff on 15 July as a token of appreciation for the contribution made by NHS teams during the pandemic and to celebrate the 250th anniversary.

Spokesperson Ben Hynd for the Rapid Relief Team said:  “Our charity specialises in supporting frontline workers and staff in emergency situations and it is a privilege to support the hospital on such an important anniversary.”

Louise Cook, Head of Fundraising for the N&N Hospitals Charity who has helped to organise the event, said:  “We are looking forward to providing a free BBQ meal for the staff at the N&N. Our thanks go to the 65 RRT volunteers who are providing this generous offer by cooking and serving the RRT Gourmet Burger meal to approximately 2500 staff.”

The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) https://rrtglobal.org/gb/ are a global organisation set up to deliver hope and relief to people across the globe. Whether it be fire, flood or humanitarian need, we expand our support services to meet the need at hand. Its main area of focus is supporting charities and organisations involved in the front-line, emergency service personnel, emergency and disaster relief, health and disability, vulnerable persons, youth and homelessness sectors.

The hospital saw its first outpatients on 11 July 1772 and first inpatients on 17 November 1772. This is a major milestone which will be celebrated throughout 2022 with the local community.
