Sponsored bike ride for Neurosciences Appeal

On Sunday 29 September, the N&N Hospitals Charity is organising the first annual charity bicycle ride to raise awareness and funds for the Neurosciences Appeal.

This ride is between the two villages in Norfolk that the Neuroscience wards are named after – Heydon and Ingham.

The 40-mile route is supported by both parish councils and Pedal Revolution who provide free services to participants.

Ekkehart Staufenberg, Neurology Consultant, said: “We all know of or worry about injury or diseases of our brain. Our Neuroscience teams care for complex brain injury, epilepsy, as well as other common and rare neurological conditions – dementia, acute and chronic epilepsy, motor neurone disease (MND), Parkinson’s Disease, Stroke and many other conditions constantly require our multi-disciplinary team to seek the most up to date therapies.”

“Modern diagnostic instruments are essential for their work to reach specialised diagnoses and provide the latest person specific treatments and new therapies for our patients’ benefit. The N&N Hospitals Charity’s Neurosciences Appeal is the major way in which we can introduce some of the latest technologies.”

The sponsored bicycle ride between the villages of Heydon and Ingham is the next fundraising activity for the Neurosciences Appeal and the team are looking for sponsors and people to take part.
