Cromer Phlebotomy Unit

Changes have been made to the way GP patients access blood tests at Cromer and District Hospital.

From 30 September 2020 Cromer and District Hospital stopped providing a blood taking service for patients where blood tests have been requested by their GP.

Patients who require a blood test as part of their hospital care will still be able to get a blood test at Cromer and District Hospital.  Please call them on 01603 646168 to arrange your appointment for your hospital based blood test.

A new service for North Norfolk based GP requested blood tests commenced on 1 October 2020. The service is run by North Norfolk Primary Care (NNPC) from Cromer Group Practice, which is directly opposite the hospital. This service is separate from the Cromer GP Practice, so please do not contact the practice directly.

Appointments will need to be pre-booked via a new booking line which went live on 1 October, 2020.

Patients with North Norfolk based GP blood requests should call the NNPC booking line on 01603 576097.

The booking line is open between 8.30am – 4pm Monday – Friday. NNPC will also be introducing an online booking system in the near future for all GP based blood tests for all North Norfolk Practices.

The changes to the phlebotomy services will make better use of space at Cromer and District Hospital, enabling the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) to provide more clinical work and specialist services there in the future, such as the new North Norfolk Macmillan Centre that is currently being built. This will lead to the expansion of chemotherapy services and procedures on the site.

Please bear with us as we transition to this new booking system. If you can’t get through to either of the booking lines on the first attempt, please wait a few minutes and try again.
