Facilities

The Facilities Management Department is located in the West Annexe at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and is led by the Director of Resources. This Department is responsible for the delivery of the following services within the organisation:

  • Facilities Management Contracts Services
  • Travel
  • Switchboard
  • Hospital Arts Project
  • Project Management
  • Security Management

Facilities Management Contracts

The PFI and FM Contracts Manager assisted by a Facilities Officer is responsible for the management of our varied service providers through our Facilities Management Contracts. As a PFI Hospital it is necessary we ensure that the Trust gets value for money through specified service level agreements from the many organisations who provide services to the Trust. The services include portering, security, catering, cleaning, transport, waste management, building and grounds maintenance and others.

Travel

The Travel Office is located within the William Fellows building, next to the Bob Champion building and is headed by the Travel Office and Logistics Manager. This team deals with all Trust related transport including staff / patient and visitor parking, staff travel to and from work, public transport and access control.

Switchboard

The Switchboard is situated in the hospital main building. The staff are responsible for handling and dealing with over 40,000 calls per month and provide a first-class service in addition to their many other switchboard duties.

Hospital Arts Project

The Hospital Arts Project  is managed by the Hospital Arts Coordinator who is responsible for all the many projects that can be seen around the hospital such as ‘Leaves’ in the East Atrium, the Ivy Child Rose Garden and the Quiet Garden adjacent to the Colney Centre to name but a few.

Project Management

The Facilities Department Project Management Team is led by a Head Project Manager supported by a Project Manager and Facilities Officer who deals with Estate Development, Estate Capital Projects, new works and provides hard facilities management advice and assistance across the Trust’s property portfolio.

Security Management

The Trust’s Security Management Specialist deals with all issues relating to the security of the Trust’s properties, assets and staff. An important part of this role is the management of violence and aggression towards Trust Staff.
